IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CLIENTS PRESCRIBING FLEA AND WORM MEDICATIONS

There have been changes to the rules governing the prescription and dispensing of POM-V worm and flea treatments.

It is no longer possible for us to supply the POM-V worm and flea treatments we recommend to animals which we have not seen recently. In order for us to comply with the rules we will need to ask you to bring your pet into the surgery for a vet to check and weigh before we can dispense any medication.

There will be no charge for this service which will then allow us to prescribe flea and worm treatments for your pet for 12 months.

For animals being brought to the practice for other reasons, we will make a note at the time of the consultation that flea and worm products can be prescribed for the next 12 months.

Animals registered on our Blakemere Health Plans are seen regularly and our plans are set to allow 12 months’ of worm and flea treatments to be dispensed after each annual health check.
